Using lids to teach Science

Through the years I've learned that you can teach many labs with little of now equipment. I have a mother at a local homeschool co-op who saves lids for me.

I actually have bags and bags of them. Lids from bottles of all kids. It's amazing how many lids we through away. Of course now we have recycle bins but frankly, we could reuse them once more before throwing them out.

Just the other day I taught a group of elementary school children the food web between plants and animals. We use lids of varying sizes to depict the next food source for that animal.
