Blogging???

Well, lately, I have been toying with this thought about blogging. I feel maybe it could be a way to leave something behind in the event I go somewhere...if you know what I mean. I'm gonna be 55 this month and I realize how fragile time is. I still have Christmas decorations hanging in my dining room. It isn't that I haven't had time it's that time is flying!!!

Regardless, I think I'm going to take a leap to leave something behind for the grandkids to read about their wacky grandma. BTW, I don't have any grandkids yet. But I am hopeful that the four sons I bore will procreate a few of them.

So we'll see where this bloggin adventure takes me.

Why can't I shake things off?

I've been really dealing with learning to become stress-free. Which actually is my constant battle every day. However, I will say that most of it has been due to being a mother of four sons. As mothers, you can't just shake things off, even after they are grown up. Sure if you don't think about them, maybe this method would work. At times I find having homeschooled my children a problem. I hate to admit this. I loved on them so much but now it's just hard not to think of them. Maybe if my hard-working husband had been home part of the time to lend a hand I may not feel this way. My husband would work twelve to fourteen-hour shifts most of the time. Which meant, I ran my children to all the sports practices and games myself. They were in fencing, baseball, and soccer. Laughter is the Best Medicine.

Yesterday mom and I headed out to go see "Mikado" a comic opera by Gilbert and Sullivan. It was put on by a high school group. Some of my students were there. When we sat down, I realized everyone in the audience was elderly. I told mom, "We must have come on a senior night." The grey-haired lady with the cane, on my left, would make some remarks and then mom would say something too. I was between them and the play was going on. I was rather embarrassed because of course, it's a play. I just wanted them both to listen quietly but it was funny at the same time. I asked the lady did she know anyone in the production, she said no that their director of the center had bought them tickets. Awe, I thought that was nice of her. The costumes were so beautiful. That Plan! Teachers responding to Florida Shootings

                    Yesterday my heart sank. My heart goes out to families who have lost their loved ones through this tragedy. When the Columbine shooting of 2012, I think we all were shocked but thought this was an isolated incident. Yet, more and more episodes like this are happening. It occurred to me, I've been teaching thirty years and now this Florida shooting has alerted every school nationwide and has alerted even private sectors of education.            I am a contracted teacher and was approached today to attend a teacher meeting at the location I teach on Fridays. The topic was how are we going to prepare if a shooting should occur on our campus? What?            We meet at a local church since we are a private group of instructors that convene once a week.
